Ecological Planning is a fairly broad subject, where Idea Design looks to provide services in ecological landscape planning.
1. Ecological Region Definition – This is a required study for any regional and urban planning proposal. Defining the ecological region allows to bring in a sustainable approach to spatial planning
2. Evaluation of Ecological issues – Spatial ecological issues pause threat to ecosystems and plant and animal kingdoms. Dredging, Oil Pollution, Waste Disposal, Soil Disturbance, Wetland Drainage & Landfill and other threats to Natural & Cultural Resources are are studied and development guidelines and controls are devised accordingly
3. Carrying Capacity of Region – This is an integral part of today’s planning interventions to achieve sustainable solutions. This work require interdesciplinary approach.
4. Resource master plans – Mapping natural and cultural ecological resources and preparing resource masterplans
5. Ecological Urban Design – Preparing Urban Design Master Plans & Structure Plans from an ecological standpoint to arrive at sustainable solutions.
6. Ecological Conservation and Restoration – Conservation of Biodiversity, Wetlands, Lakes and Restoration of degraded Natural/Urban Areas
Idea Design has done Ecological Planning and Research for the Vembanad Life Region studying the natural and cultural ecological parameters and coming out with a sustainable regional plan and ecological development guidelines for the entire region. Portfolio of this study is given below.
